Michael CadaretThe Rev. J. Michael Cadaret, Priest in Charge

I come to St. Bart’s after 21 years away. I’ve been away at seminary, away serving at small and large parishes; rural, suburban, and urban parishes; conflicted parishes; stable parishes; and parishes in transition.

I am married to Kate Lambert. She is the CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia. She is a singer and musical theater enthusiast. She, too, is so looking forward to life with you.

I am a father of two: Atticus, who lives with his girlfriend, Hannah, and works here in Richmond; and Madeline, who recently moved back to the area and works with families of children with autism. They are great kids, who really aren’t kids anymore, and you will hear stories of them while I share their ups and downs with them.

I come to you as a chef, cyclist, reader, fisherman, and dad to Dupree, the best Yellow Lab ever. You will hear me rant and ramble about food, about bicycle racing, and (maybe a little) about my favorite band, the Grateful Dead. I will also bore you to tears with my hand-wringing over the Public Face of Christianity in America today.

My motto, which I hope each of you and all y’all will adopt is a simple question, “Do you know how much God loves you?”
